Puppy Services
Using Positive Reinforcement, our puppy service options include Puppy Start Right group classes, Puppy Pre-K group classes, Puppy Socializations group classes, Puppy Day School, and private puppy training services in your home or in our school. We also offer AKC puppy STAR stand-alone group classes or added to other group classes.
All service options offer a solid foundation to prepare you to succeed in your training through your pups’ developmental stages. All options include education, prevention, and management tools, coaching you directly to navigate the hands-on training, and based on the service the trainer may work directly with your puppy to make more progress.
Our training curriculum is based on the Puppy Start Right book, Puppy Start Right Foundation Training for the Companion Dog. We recommend you start puppy training as early as (8) eight weeks, The American Veterinary Society of Animal Position on Puppy Socialization.

Puppy Start Right Now!
$200 Structured 60-minute 4 sessions -weekly
For puppies as young as 8 weeks or under 16 weeks. A semi-private group class. we recommend this be the first of Hudson Barks puppy group classes ( if your pup is very young -but not required be the first ). Prevention is key to avoid making corrections down the road.This group class can help you and the trainer asses for follow -up service options. The training may include, crate/long term confinement, potty training, nipping & biting, or your priorities. Basics for attention and settle/relax. Introduction to obedience and socialization, and more. Each session includes a Q&A, weekly notes.

Puppy Socialization
$200 Structured 45-minute 5 sessions -weekly
$45 per individual sessions when available
NOT JUST PLAY. for puppies as young as 8/9 weeks of age, under 16 weeks. At maximum be 16 weeks at start of session one(older ? reach us). Unique to Hudson Barks, not your typical “loose to do whatever” Socialization is not simply exposure but thoughtful and careful at each pup’s pace. We also socialize to other humans to objects, sounds, to the touch; helping to desensitize to an array of needs. Some discussion may include anti-jumping, nipping, guarding, leash greetings, etc. Puppy playtime sessions are perfect for teaching and maintaining healthy and appropriate interactions with other puppies. A safe and clean, and structured environment.
Puppy Pre-K
$325 Structured 45-minute 6 sessions -weekly
For puppies as young as 8 weeks or under 16 weeks. Learning their ABCs for manners. A foundation for puppy parents to focus on gaining attention from their pup’s Other humans and pups offer distractions for teaching your pup to focus on you and increase impulse control. Introduction to some basic cues like: Sit, Down, Stay, leave it, touch(target), attention [toward Walking], etc. This class offers a mini social at the tail end focusing on positive encounters with their peers.

Private puppy training sessions
For puppies as young as 8 weeks or under 5 months. In –home or in school, private puppy development and training sessions offer a comprehensive start-up, focusing on prevention, training and socialization. Private sessions are the best option for you if you rather not travel and have specific objectives. We focus exclusively on you and your puppy, your environment, and overall needs based on your lifestyle. The focus may include potty training, confinement, separation anxiety prevention, socialization, walking and more. You want to make sure you are doing it right!
We recommend package sessions to ensure progress is reliable.

PROBLEM PREVENTION AND SOLVING
Introducing positive reinforcement, anticipate and manage puppy behaviors that may develop into problematic behaviors in the future. Prevent against boredom, release your puppy’s pent up energy –deter mischief.
Play biting and mouthing,
jumping, “counter surfing” and stealing objects,
chewing,
independence training,
resource guarding,
crate training and/or proper confinement.
FOUNDATION TRAINING
Introducing positive reinforcement, capturing and training for good manners. Train for the basic building blocks. Teaching and entertaining your dog with foundation behaviors will capture his/her puppy energy and redirect potential mischief and learn manners.

Recall/come –leading to, your puppy runs to you when you call

We Prioritize Positive Socialization for Your Puppy
Early socialization vaccinates your puppy against behavior problems like reactivity to other dogs, people, places, things and sounds. Without proper socialization, puppies can grow up to become fearful and reluctant to approach or be approached by unfamiliar stimuli (people, animals, things..) –some dogs may even grow to become reactive by showing fearful aggression. Not just socialization to other dogs! We will show you how to positively socialize your puppy to an array of stimuli.
People –children, seniors, people of all races, size
Animals –other dogs, cats, birds or other animals
Health and grooming –walking equipment, touched for grooming or examination
Environments –pet store, busy streets and places, crate and other confinement, car, outdoor sitting, backyard
Surfaces, noises and other novelty items –vacuum, blow drier, garbage can, walkers and other devices, bike cycle
*We have a small window of opportunity for socialization. The current literature indicates a window lasting up to 14 weeks to expose puppies to positive socialization. The American Veterinary Society of Animal Position on Puppy Socialization.
